The Clockwork Nightingale is a creature based off of a mechanical bird. They were the very first craftable creatures. These creatures were added before factions were introduced, so at first anyone could make them.

The Clockwork Nightingale is a craftable creature. If you're an Engineer you can buy the plan for 500 electrum from the bazaar.

Clockwork Nightingale chicks, upon reaching three years of age, begin to outgrow their golden chassis and must have their frame and amplifiers readjusted. Once reconstructed, the adult Nightingale has a glamorous gold-glittered coat across its entire being, making them one of the most highly wanted pets to date. The voice of the Nightingale have gone from an irritating ticking chirp to a melodic, soothing tune, which can be used as a sleeping aid for insomniacs.
Clockwork Nightingales are quite helpless beings, once hatched from their mechanically-engineered egg. At this point, a Clockwork Nightingale has no control over its own state of conscious, and will sit there chirping like a clock for days on end. Due to this, they drain their internal 'battery' of sorts, and if not wound up every few days will fall into a state of unconsciousness. Now, whether this is a good thing or not entirely relies on if you can handle their chirp.
